Today we heard classical standards by Bach, Debussy, and Chopin, movie favorites like the theme from Star Wars, and a lot of holiday music. Some students even created their own original compositions or improvisations. This was also the first recital for several of my students, and I want to honor their bravery. Performing in front of an audience for the first time can be scary, but they all made it look easy.
I am so proud of the work that my students have done over the last several months preparing for their studio recital. You put in so many hours in practice time and lessons, and your hard work definitely showed in your playing today. I also want to thank all of the parents for working so hard with your kids around preparing their pieces. I am very impressed by how much everyone accomplished in just a few short months.
I am already thinking about the next recital. I’m very excited to see the growth that my students continue to make!
Sincerely,
Matthew Pavilanis
